#2: Seeing ships in a puddle.

Welcome to a new weekly newsletter that we have named ‘1% MORE’. In each issue, you will find 4 short prompts using Mind over Tech’s M.O.R.E framework to trigger tiny improvements to your digital habits.

This week's theme is: 🧩 Connection

Mindsets and habits to connect with yourself and others, to be curious, and to learn in your digital life.

Mobilise.

a trigger to inspire motivation

American author Zora Neale Hurston on paying attention to the world around you:

“Some people could look at a mud puddle and see an ocean with ships.”

Source: Their eyes were watching god

Observe.

an approach to gather data

Be curious about how using Google maps (or similar apps) to get around changes your connection with what you notice in the environment around you.

Reflect.

a prompt to inspire change

How could you reconnect with the process of journeying itself instead of always arriving at your destination as efficiently as possible?

Experiment.

an invitation to disrupt your digital habits

Visit somewhere new (or take a different route to a known place) but don’t use an app to guide you. Plan your route, use your senses and ask for directions!

Try this experiment out and learn from others in this week’s member community challenge—free until end of Jan ‘23.

I hope you enjoy this new format—if so, please share it with others.

Until next week,

— Jonathan

P.S. This week we launched a new version of the Mind over Tech Website. And it’s not just a fresh lick of paint—it also has information about our upcoming Accelerator programme (more on this next week…) In the meantime, if you have any feedback, or just want to give our website team some love, reply and let me know what you think!
