#1: You have power over your mind.

Welcome to a new weekly newsletter that we have named ‘1% MORE’. In each issue, you will find 4 short prompts using Mind over Tech’s M.O.R.E framework to trigger tiny improvements to your digital habits.

This week's theme is: ⏳ Focus

Mindsets and habits to help manage your time and stay present with whatever you are doing in your digital life.

Mobilise.

a trigger to inspire motivation

Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius on focusing on what you can control:

“You have power over your mind—not outside events. Realise this, and you will find strength.”

Observe.

an approach to gather data

Be curious about the relationship between how clearly you can articulate your current goal, and the amount of digital distraction you currently experience.

Reflect.

a prompt to inspire change

How could you make your current goal clearer to help you notice more easily when you are being distracted by your tech?

Experiment.

an invitation to disrupt your digital habits

Use the Pomodoro technique to break your work up into distinct chunks that have a clear goal, and to set out a beginning, middle and end to the task.

Try this experiment out and learn from others in this week’s member community challenge—free until end of Jan ‘23.

I hope you enjoy this new format—if so, please share it with others.

Until next week,
